Urban Art trifft Tennis

Für das WTA 500 Turnier bett1open entstand ein wandübergreifendes visuelles Konzept für das Steffi Graf Stadion in Berlin. Im Mittelpunkt stand die Idee, die Energie eines internationalen Tennisturniers mit der urbanen Sprache Berlins zu verbinden.

Die vorhandenen Betonflächen des Stadions wurden dabei zur Leinwand. Großformatige reduzierte Darstellungen von Tennisspielerinnen in Aktion treffen auf feine, dynamisch angeordnete Streifen in Rot und Weiß. Die Betonoberfläche bildet einen bewussten Kontrast zu den grafischen Elementen und gibt der Gestaltung ihren urbanen Charakter im Tape Art Stil.

So entstand eine Bildsprache die Tennis und Urban Art verbindet. Die Spielerinnen sind in Bewegung dargestellt und vermitteln Geschwindigkeit, Spannung und Konzentration. Dabei geht es nicht um einzelne Stars, sondern um die Energie der Athletinnen und den Sport als Ganzes.
