Out of the Game

Artistic spatial design for an event space

For the launch of FIFA 20, a large-scale design was created for the glass facade of an event space on the Thames. The concept transferred the dynamic imagery of the game into the real space and combined it with the London skyline in the background.

From the game into the room

For the launch of FIFA 20, a large-scale design was created for the glass facade of an event space. The concept translated the dynamic visual world of the game into the real space.

The design incorporated key elements from the game. Vibrant colors, inspired by the visual style of FIFA 20, were combined with graphical field structures, tactical lines, and the depiction of a player in motion. In this way, the game's digital aesthetic merged into an energetic composition within an analog spatial setting.

A special feature of the design lay in the window surface itself. Large areas of the glass facade were deliberately left uncovered, so that the skyline on the opposite side of the Thames remained visible and blended into the artwork as a natural background.

This bridge between the digital gaming world and analog experiences ran through the entire event, from the artistic design of the facade to the supporting program with a football tournament in VOLTA style.

VOLTA as the origin of the movement

A key element of the design was the anamorphic composition. From the floor, a large V, the symbol for the new VOLTA game mode, continued up the glass facade and extended across the floor and windows to form a cohesive overall image.

The idea behind it was that the game spread out from the tip of the "V" into the real world. The colored areas of the composition were arranged as if they were dynamically moving away from precisely this point, filling the space with the energy of the game.

From a defined vantage point, the floor and facade merged into a single, cohesive image. The skyline in the background complemented the artwork, creating a unique spatial experience that blended the game and reality.

Digital energy in real space

The combination of color-intensive imagery, spatial anamorphosis, and the view of the city created a spatial staging that went far beyond a classic wall design.

The result was a work of art in which the digital world of FIFA 20 noticeably spilled over into the real environment, transforming visitors into the heart of the game's energy.
