A dance through time
The concept originated from the building's former use as a car factory. On the left side of the image, a woman in a red dress dances, representing the site's past. An old car and the industrial buildings in the background are reminders of the site's earlier use.
On the right, a second woman in a blue dress dances, representing the future. Her dress depicts a safe and intact environment, symbolizing sustainable mobility and the strong commitment to sustainability in Denmark. This future is to be understood as a vision, a goal that must continue to be worked towards.
The color scheme of the two dresses is directly based on the Spar Nord logo. Red and blue are deliberately balanced and distributed across the facade, red on the left, blue on the right, so that the brand colors run like a common thread through the entire composition.
The two figures dance towards each other. Their flowing clothes act as a symbolic glimpse into a timeline, revealing both past and future. Between them lies the Spar Nord logo, forming the center and symbolizing the present – the moment when these two timelines converge.
A positive outlook for the future
The artwork is intended to inspire a positive outlook and encourage active engagement with the future, rather than simply waiting for it to unfold. In this way, the facade design becomes more than just an illustration of the site's history; it becomes an invitation to actively participate in shaping change.
Permanent art in the tape art style
The design was implemented using a combination of a primer-like outdoor film and subsequent application of tape art-style vinyl. This approach enabled a durable, permanent design on the plastered facade, despite the use of adhesive material instead of traditional paint.
The result was a weatherproof work of art that remained true to the character of a festival contribution while also being preserved as a landmark in the cityscape for the long term.
